Every year SSMSA helps prepare future generations of youngsters to be conscientious, safety-minded snowmobile operators by administering the Michigan Snowmobile Safety Course. The course is offered FREE of charge and is held at the SSMSA building. (see map below)
Watch this space for our next safety class in October or November of 2020. You must pre-register for class and complete the course workbook before attending class. Class size is limited to the first 50 students. You must be turning 12 years old or older in the coming winter to take the class. Adults and parents are also welcome to participate.
Online DNR Sponsored Snowmobile Safety Class We encourage you to take the safety class at our facility and get hands-on learning in a fun, social environment with expert instructors. The Michigan Snowmobile Safety Course is a FREE service offered annually by SSMSA. An intensive, all-day instruction session utilizing lecture, demonstration, and video/power-point materials, helps prepare area youngsters to safely and sensibly operate a snowmobile. Students are given instruction by officers from Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department EMS, Sault Ste. Marie City Police Department, Michigan DNR and SSMSA staff.
