Sixty Nine New Safe Snowmobilers Thank you for all the help, time and donations everyone provided to make the Sault Snowmobile Association Snowmobile Safety Class 2007 a success. Sixty nine successful students were certified- even without any snow! The farthest student traveled from Germany- but not just for the class, she is a foreign exchange student attending Pickford High School. MDNR Conservation Officer Mike Bailey and Sault Ste. Marie Chief of Police Lou Murray both commented on what a great job the Sault Snowmobile Association does conducting the class-'....very organized, thoroughly covers Michigan Law, impressive community support (Lunch) and the number of volunteers to help....' |

New Home for our Groomers: You may have heard that the association has purchased land to accommodate our groomers. It is true; the association purchased land, approved a building loan, started a site plan, and agreed on a contractor for the framing and exterior of the building. The land is located on West 9th Street between the Industrial Park and on I-75. The work has now begun. The Association would like to see a covered home for the groomers early this winter. As the snow is not cooperating for the snowmobile season, it is providing for an easier building erection. |

Bridge Repair: Here, Tom Brown, Andy Molnar and Michael Panik are nailing down the decking on a bridge across a small creek on the Kinross trail. | Inmate Work Crew: The inmate work crew from the the Chippewa County Jail certainly performed their share of community service when they helped us remove cut brush following the brush cutter on trail #8. We can't thank them enough for all of their hard work. We couldn't have done it without them |
 | | Good Turn Out At Trail Stop! The Trail Stop in Raco on Saturday with the Sault Ste Marie Snowmobile Association and the MSA had a good turn out, gave away 150 dogs, 8 gallons of cocoa, and talked to hundreds of sledders. Antlers donated the dogs, Abners the buns, Ang-Gios the condiments, and GFS [Roy Swanson] the cocoa. |

Finer Points of Grooming: This is Mike Jarosz and he's at the 1st preseason Club Social. He's got to be discussing the finer points of grooming with other groomer operators | Time to Ride: Now it's time to get on a sled and practice what was taught in the classroom at the Safety class | All Standing: All these guys are standing. Can't figure out why. They're all groomer operators. Maybe they all want to be the first one on the trail when the Grooming Operation starts? |
Land Owners: A number of the land owners that allow our trai to cross their property were present to socialize and receive their first ever payment from the DNR for allowing a snowmobile trail to cross their land. Bless their hearts! | 2006 Safety Class: 81 Participants successfully pass the Sault Snowmobile Assoc. safety class of 2006. | DNR Officer One of the local DNR officers is giving his part of the lesson on snowmobile safety to the kids at the Sault Snowmobile Assoc. 2006 safety class |
